1. Loose material

1.1 The storage method shall be determined according to the characteristics and safety requirements of the loose materials in the furnace; Furnace materials should be kept dry.

1.2 When rail transportation is adopted, the distance between the outside of the track and the material pile shall be greater than 1.5m.

1.3 Materials with explosion and spontaneous combustion risk, such as CaC2 powder, magnesium powder, coal powder, direct reduced iron (DRI), etc., should be stored in a closed storage bin, with nitrogen protection if necessary; Storage facilities shall be designed in accordance with explosion-proof requirements, and no fire, no water.

1.4 The receiving port of the underground silo shall be provided with a grille plate.

2. Scrap Steel

2.1 Scrap steel that may have radioactive hazards should not be brought into the plant. The social steel scrap into the factory should be sorted to pick out non-ferrous metal parts, inflammable and explosive and toxic items; The closed container should be cut; Spent weapons and ammunition should be strictly identified by relevant professional departments and properly disposed of.

2.2 Scrap shall be classified and stored in piles according to source, form and composition; When stacking materials manually, the pile height above the ground should not exceed 1.5m.

2.3 Steel mills should generally set up scrap batching room and scrap yard. The waste batching operation is carried out directly in the scrap yard. The scrap yard should have a roof for batching in rainy and snowy days. Scrap steel mixed with ice, snow and water should not be put into the furnace.

2.4 Necessary longitudinal and transverse pedestrian safety walkways shall be set up between scrap batching room and scrap yard.

2.5 The scrap pit should be 0.5~1.0m higher than the ground, the open pit should be equipped with drainage facilities, and the ground scrap pile should be more than 1.5m away from the outside of the transport track.

2.6 When the feeding train line of scrap batching room or scrap yard intersects the transverse scrap transport ferry line, the train line entrance shall be equipped with a signal device allowing the train to enter. When the ferry is running in the scrap area, the train shall not enter.

2.7 Scrap loading and unloading operation, there should be no people under the electric disk or hydraulic grab, crane cart or car start, move, should be issued buzzer or light warning signal, to warn the ground personnel and adjacent crane to avoid; Crane cab should have a good view, can clearly observe scrap loading and unloading operation site and adjacent crane operation.
